Field Day

The University of Arkansas hosts a Turfgrass Field Day bi-annually. The field day will be located in Fayetteville at the Agricultural Research Center. Field day provides individuals the opportunity to hear the latest up-to-date information about new products and research studies as well as providing an opportunity to network with others in the turf industry and visit with vendors at the trade show. Lunch, a hat and an information packet are provided.

 

2019 Turf Field Day Program

Arkansas/Oklahoma Turfgrass Short Course

This is an intensive 2-day introductory level turfgrass management short course. It is designed specifically to benefit turfgrass managers in lawn, grounds, or athletic field care that have not had a formal turf management course. The course emphasizes sound, research-based fundamentals of the why behind the how turf is cared for in Arkansas and Oklahoma. Topics are taught class room style and cover the fundamentals of: turf identification, selection, establishment, fertilization, mowing, irrigation, aeration, de-thatching, and pest management. The course is a cooperative effort among the turf science faculty at the University of Arkansas and Oklahoma State University.

Pesticide Recertification Training

Pesticide certification, licensing, and recertification training is coordinated by the Arkansas State Plant Board in the Commercial Pest Control Section. Please visit their website , read a description of their program, or call them (501.225.1598) with any questions you may have.
